3D without Glasses!


Berlin:The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute has developed software that can convert stereoscopic content – like that of off-the-shelf 3D Blu-rays – into an autostereoscopic format. The software generates depth maps from the two views of the stereoscopic 3D which are then used to generate the number of intermediate images required for 3D viewing without special glasses – automatically and in real-time!

Foundation Degree Frame Work by Animation Industry


Skillset has developed this sector  frame work with input from employers in the animation
industry and from those already offering a foundation degree in this area. The purpose of the Framework is to offer guidance to Universities and Colleges wanting to develop Foundation Degree programmes in animation matched to the industry's current and future skills needs. It sets out industry skills requirements, pointers on what should be covered in the course, information about work-based learning and the modes of study preferred by employers.
